A traditional cup profile which works wonderfully well for morning/breakfast coffee and for use in French Presses and Moka Pots. Makes a fabulous espresso as well and great in milk drinks. You get the characteristic deep body of Arabica coffees from this part of the world, but use of the Washed Process here elevates the entire package to another level. Aveen and Yogitha Rodrigues produce this microlot on Melkodige Estate on the Western facing slopes of Kudremukh, a UNESCO biodiversity site.
The coffee is picked after measuring brix content to ensure a high concentration of sugars. It is then pulped and washed thoroughly leaving no mucilage, then moved straight to drying beds. Coffee is slowly shade dried for the first few days to remove surface moisture and then spread in a thin layer over patio bricks and sun-dried slowly over a period of 7- 10 days.
